Financial Planning & Analysis Manager (Remote)

Preferable Location(s): Helsinki, Finland
Work Type: Full Time

Are you ready to live smarter, not harder?

At Aavalabs, we're on a mission to empower people to achieve their full potential through high-quality, scientifically backed nutritional supplements. We're a vibrant, fully remote company with a global team, and we believe in bringing our values to work every day: being lighthearted in how we connect, generous in how we share knowledge, and tenacious in our pursuit of improvement.

If you're passionate about well-being, innovation, and making a real impact, then you might just be the perfect fit for our growing family!

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented financial professional to join our ambitious journey. This is a strategic and high-impact role where you'll act as the financial architect of our growth.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is a new, crucial position dedicated to providing the precise financial expertise and strategic borderless insights required to support Aavalabs' international expansion and scalable growth.

You are a self-motivated and tenacious thinker, constantly in the search of learning and process optimization. While Aavalabs thrives on a remote-first, adaptable culture, this role requires you to be based in the Helsinki area to provide necessary in-person support and assist the CEO with signatures and legal paperwork.

Key Responsibilities

As our FP&A Manager, you will be expected to take a proactive, hands-on approach, transforming complex data into clear, actionable narratives.

  • Financial Modeling & Foresight:

    • Build and maintain detailed, scalable financial forecasting models that support long-term strategic planning.

    • Partner with business leaders across continents to co-create accurate annual plans, budgets, forecasts, and compelling business cases.

  • Cost Optimization & Generosity:

    • Identify, recommend, and track cost optimization opportunities, ensuring we are always operating efficiently and mindful of every euro spent.

    • Drive strategic analysis with a proven ability to build and articulate a coherent long-term financial strategy.

  • Process Innovation & Tenacity:

    • Own visibility into financial actuals: providing meticulous analysis, clear reporting, and generous insights to all stakeholders.

    • Continuously innovate and improve processes to maintain a simple, scalable, and robust financial structure—helping us live smarter, not harder.

What You'll Bring: Core Strengths

We're looking for an adaptable individual whose strengths are deeply aligned with our need for precision and humanity.

1. Financial Acumen and Legislative Clarity (Wise & Generous)

  • Finnish Financial Legislation: Non-negotiable working knowledge of and experience with Finnish financial laws and regulations, ensuring our strategy and processes are perfectly aligned.

  • Financial Management Mastery: Proven ability in financial forecasting, long-term budgeting, and comprehensive analysis.

  • Borderless Insight (Preferred): Previous experience or exposure to broader European legislation is a strong advantage, as it helps us understand the needs of our international markets.

2. Hands-on Adaptability (Tenacious & Resilient)

  • Medium-Size Company Experience: Evidence of thriving and adapting operations and strategies in dynamic, medium-sized company environments.

  • Hands-on: A genuine willingness and ability to roll up your sleeves and take a direct, hands-on approach to all tasks and challenges.

3. Leadership and Communication (Lighthearted & Humane)

  • Multicultural Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage stakeholders across different continents and cultures (we're 15+ nationalities!).

  • Bilingual Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Finnish are required to interact effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.

  • Flexibility: The generosity to adjust your leadership and communication style based on the specific situation and audience.

4. Cultural Alignment

  • Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and environments.

  • Cultural Fit: You share our values—lighthearted, generous, and tenacious—and are ready to contribute to a positive, humanKIND workplace culture.

Our Perks & Culture

At Aavalabs, we truly value our team! We offer:

  • Fully remote work (remote first): Enjoy the freedom to live life on your own terms, as long as there is an internet connection.

  • A global, diverse team: Connect with colleagues from over 15 nationalities.

  • A supportive and collaborative environment: We're always there to help each other shine. We really mean it, it is not just nice words

  • Opportunities for growth and learning: We're passionate about continuous improvement. To prove it, our CEO was the first employee in the company.

  • A commitment to your well-being: We believe in a lifestyle of balance, empathy, and connection and an annual allowance of our products.
